  • International Journal of Disaster Risk Science

International Journal of Disaster Risk Science (IJDRS) is supervised by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, and supported by  Beijing Normal University and the National Disaster Reduction Center, Ministry of Emergency Management of the People’s Republic of China. The  Editorial Office is in Faculty of Geographical Science, Beijing Normal University.

IJDRS was founded in 2010 and is the only English language journal on integrated disaster risk science currently published in China. It is a fully sponsored, peer-reviewed open access journal published under the brand SpringerOpen. The journal has been indexed/abstracted in Science Citation Index Expanded since 2015, and the latest impact factor is 2.162. The Editors-in-Chief of the journal are Prof. Peijun Shi and Prof. Carlo Jaeger.

IJDRS provides a pioneering platform for researchers and practitioners aiming at greater resilience and integrated risk governance in view of local, regional, and global disasters. IJDRS breaks new ground in research about disaster risks by connecting in-depth studies of actual disasters and of specific practices of disaster risk management with investigations of the global dynamics of disaster risks and theories and models relevant for advanced integrated risk governance.

The journal’s primary aim is to enable the disaster risk community to communicate, learn, and progress in order to improve the capacities for integrated disaster risk and resilience identification, measurement, and governance at all scales.

IJDRS is an interdisciplinary English language journal that publishes research articles that are problem-driven and solution-oriented, providing insights on major disasters in a timely fashion and addressing theoretical and methodological issues in disaster risk science.

  • International Journal of Geoheritage and Parks

International Journal of Geoheritage and Parks (IJGP) was established in 2013. It is sponsored by Beijing Normal University, and supported by Commission on Geoheritage of the International Geographical Union (IGU-COG). It currently publishes four issues every year. IJGP has been designed to reflect a commitment to high-quality original research papers and reviews in the field of geoheritage and parks. There will be NO CHARGE for submitting or publishing in IJGP.

IJGP aims to promote divergent and pluralistic visions, ideas and opinions about geoheritage and parks, promote scholarship and best practices in geoheritage and parks, and build dialogue on geoheritage and parks among researchers from different countries. IJGP publishes studies on the methods and practices of geoheritage and parks, and explores approaches for the conservation, management and sustainable development of geoheritage and parks.

IJGP’s scope is broad in both methodology and content. IJGP is interested in the content concerned about the conservation, management, policies,  education, tourism, interpretation, economics, museology, protection, and sustainable development of global geoheritage and parks. IJGP also hope  to publish studies taking various methodological approaches, including quantitative methods, qualitative methods, and mixed methods.

  • Geography and Sustainability

Geography and Sustainability is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal. As the official journal of IGU-GFE Commission, It publishes original and significant, cutting-edge research related to geography and sustainability, encourages wider analysis and innovative thinking about global  or regional sustainability through the bridging and synthesis of physical geography, human geography, ecology, hydrology, atmospheric, climate and  social sciences.
